Friends, last week we already held the Fifth! Open Championship of the Republic of Kazakhstan in swimming among veterans and amateurs, MASTERS!
Date: September 09-10, 2023
With great gratitude to all participants, I present the results of the competition:
Venue: Republic of Kazakhstan, Almaty, Abay Ave. 48, Central Swimming Pool, Rakhat Fitness, pool 8 lanes of 50 meters.
At the competition, participants competed in 15 types of distances and 2 relay races.
189 participants took part in the competition in individual swims, 69 women and 120 men. 20 club teams, 9 women's and 11 men, competed in the relay races.
268 gold, 140 silver, and 85 bronze medals were awarded.
Athletes are represented from 19 cities in 5 countries.
Among the participants: 11 people - MSMK, 31 - MS, 18 - CMS.

The youngest athletes were born in 2003.
The competition opened:
*Dmitry Balandin is the 2016 Olympic champion in the 200m breaststroke. Record holder of Kazakhstan at distances of 50, 100 and 200 m breaststroke, Honored Master of Sports of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The first representative of Kazakhstan in history to win Olympic gold in swimming.
*Romanov Alexander - President of the Federation of Masters of Swimming of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
*Kanat Sakharyanov is vice-president of the Federation of Swimming Masters of the Republic of Kazakhstan.
In the near future, the procedure for assigning rank to members of our Federation will begin. But I will talk about this in a separate message.
Friends, I can confidently say that the international Masters movement in Kazakhstan has proven its viability, is actively developing and has a great future.
